​Defender v0.1.1 - Flight Model Testing (Gamepad, MKB, Flight stick)


Added proper support for other input methods like mouse and keyboard and flight sticks. See the controls in controls.txt or via the main page.

Enemy ships are included in this build, but pose no danger.

Changes:

  • Added pause menu (only accessible via ESC key)
  • Added mouse input with configurable virtual joystick deadzone and bounds (via settings in pause menu)
    • These settings will save between sessions
  • Added controller recommended prompt
  • Added basic support for flight sticks and racing wheels (because why not)
  • Added static structures in the scene to fly around
  • Fixed UI jitter

Known Issues:

  • Menu supports mouse input only
  • HOTAS throttle is non-functional due to digital speed controls
  • No damage to player (can cause the player to get stuck on environment meshes)
  • Visible shadow/mesh jitter when the player moves too far from spawn (floating point inaccuracy)
  • AI ships often get stuck on environment meshes
  • AI radio calls will sometimes repeat
  • AI radio calls are a bit SHOUTY
  • There aint nothin' to do

  • Restart now loads test scene
  • Fixed HUD markers breaking on restart
